Hive: Web App

The brand name of ‘Hive’ originated from the idea of worker bees, and how the bees interact and work together. The colors reflect calmness but also the honey that the bees work together to create, bringing together a dynamic and inviting color scheme. Throughout the application you will see little bees pop up to pull together the tone; they’ll prompt you with simple instructions while also keeping that warm and inviting tone. A full click-through prototype of the app can be found here.

Function

Function

The function behind this app lies between two key points: A) being disappearing messages (to minimize clutter), and B) being the ability to choose a time limit for those messages to disappear, with the ability to resend should the message remain unseen by the receiver. Beside each message in the inbox is a timer to let the receiver know how long they have to respond, otherwise the message will simply disappear. Other functions include calendar syncs for meetings/events, sending group messages, and favoriting people for easy contact.
